WHAT IS BAPTISM?
Baptism is the sacrament that gives our souls the new life of sanctifying grace by which we become Christians, children of God, and heirs of Heaven. Baptism is the very first sacrament we may receive. Unless we are baptized, we are forbidden to receive any other sacraments.
Baptism is necessary for the salvation of all, because Our Lord has said, "Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." Therefore, parents should procure their child's Baptism as soon as possible after birth.

BAPTISM AT HOLY ROSARY
Once you have decided to have your child receive the gift of the Catholic faith, stop by the Parish Office located at 503 California Street with original birth certificate of the child to be baptized. There you will register for a date in our Parish Baptism Schedule. If you are interested in having your child 7 years and older receive the sacrament of Baptism please click on the Faith Formation link below for more information.
Faith FormationA baptismal preparation class is required for both parents and godparents to help them more deeply understand the Sacrament of Baptism and the duties required of godparents.

Once you have been selected as a godparent at Holy Rosary Church, please fill out the Godparent Form below and have it submitted to the Parish Office before the Pre-Baptismal Class is set to begin.
